From Lynne Eldridge MD, your Guide to Lung Cancer

This is a newsletter I don't like to write.  I prefer to talk about treatments, or ways to make living with lung cancer as easy as possible.  But many people wish to know what can be expected if those treatments don't provide the outcome we'd hoped for.

Best wishes and blessings for another week, Dr. Lynne

What to Expect During the Final Stages of Lung Cancer

We don't like to talk about the later stages of lung cancer.  We wish everyone could be cured.  But, if you are like me, you may want to feel a little more prepared (though you can't really prepare) -- as I did when my father was facing the final stages of cancer.  What might you expect?

When Should You Stop Cancer Treatment?

Stopping cancer treatment doesn't mean giving up.  Yet this decision can cause a lot of conflict among family members.  Here are 9 things to consider if you are faced with this difficult decision.

Understanding Anticipatory Grief

Many people begin to grieve while they or a loved one begins to face death, or even when first diagnosed with cancer.  This is something known as "anticipatory grief," and if you are experiencing these emotions, you are not alone.  This article talks about anticipatory grief, with a link to an article at the bottom which discusses ways to help cope with these feelings.
