I tend to avoid newsletters covering the causes and prevention of lung cancer.  One reason, is that I try to do everything possible to avoid the stigma.  But even for those with lung cancer it may help to discuss prevention.  First, so these tips can be shared with family members - after all, lung cancer is hereditary to a degree.  But another is that - even we don't know what impact it has - the American Institute for Cancer Research recommends that people living with cancer follow guidelines for cancer prevention, in the hope that it may lower recurrence and progression of cancers already present.
Best wishes until next week, Dr. Lynne
