Factors That Affect Lung Cancer Survival

 There are two things I say to people when I'm asked about lung cancer statistics.  The first is that you are not a statistic.  Everyone is different, and every lung cancer is different.  The second is that the numbers we have -- survival rates -- are often based on "old information."  For example, the lung cancer survival rates quoted on the American Cancer Society's Webstie are from 1998 to 2000.  Since that time new treatments have become available especially for people with EGFR and ALK mutations.  Read more
